It is that time of year again. The time when traffic is at it’s worst and shopping is a venture through psychosis.

Take a break! Get away from the web! Don’t spend the weekend doing anything work wise that isn’t an absolute emergency. Spend time with friends and family and not working on your web empire. No friends and family? Sit and watch TV or play games. Just take a break!

Why?

Aside from the obvious… breaks are important!

We ALL burn out now and again. Specially working with stuff like SEO. This crap gets old and boring and it wears on you. This work also leads itself to creating not only workaholics but workjunkies. It is relatively easy to work 18-30 hours online in a shift. Specially since nobody will care except you and your family that you slept in a heap under your desk.

I have worked many a holiday. It may have been a factor in my divorce. Probably not as much as my being an ass. I have worked for clients during the holidays too. Totally worthless. If you are doing client work right now, knock it off! They wont appreciate it. It certainly isn’t worth it when you think about how it can set the trend for your whole year. Of course, there is also the divorce factor.

Take the week off if you can and revitalize for 2007 and then shred it up!

I could go on like this for awhile longer I am sure, but I have some time to waste away from work.

Forgive me as the articles get scarce over the next several days…. even though they didn’t hit a good schedule yet anyway.
